40Flex Journey | Day 26

As we obey.

"The release happens as we forgive. The stillness arrives as we trust. The restoration happens as we repent."

Luke 17 opens with Jesus talking about forgiveness. He says: Even if a person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.

Seven times! Do you hear that!? I get offended and reticent to forgive even when I am wronged once. I get so angry. Jesus says: even if I am wronged seven times. That means that it’s a hypothetical… seven could just as easily be 14 or 77. Whatever number, I still need to forgive.

Homework

Could you stop and pray and ask God to remind you of someone that you need to forgive?

Then, spend time releasing to God your hurt, and forgive the person.

Cleansed As They Went

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. (Luke 17.14)

When Jesus told the 10 men who had leprosy to go to the priests, they were yet to be healed. They were still leprous. Imagine the conversation they had as they walked! The changes happen as we obey.

Contrast and Clarity

The significance of his words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what he was talking about. (Luke 18.34)

There is always so much contrast in the words and works of Jesus. The religious being the most against Him. The blind being the ones with the clearest sight. The closest disciples being the most lost.

......................................................

"To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given." (Luke 19.26)

Use everything wisely! Every hour. Every day. Every resource. Use it all for Him.

The Challenge

Big Steps Forward

01.
Forgive Hypothetically

Commit to forgiving even the smallest offenses today, regardless of how many times they occur, preventing anger from leading you or others to sin.

02.
Obey Before Healing

Identify one command from God you've been waiting to feel ready for. Start walking in obedience today, trusting the cleansing happens "as you go."

03.
Resource Audit

Review your time and resources today. Choose one specific area to "use well" for God's kingdom rather than letting it sit idle or wasted.
