40Flex Journey | Day 25

Jesus, friend of sinners.

"Thank you, Jesus, for sitting with us."

After reading today’s passage, the term if this, then that comes to mind. Logic statements commonly used in computer or programming speak. In Luke 16 Jesus uses a few logic statements: if you do this, then that will be natural.

Let’s read Jesus’ if/then statements. They aren’t just logic. They are words to live by.

Now Think About This

“But they all alike began to make excuses..." (Luke 14.18)

How many excuses can I give? I just bought a field; I just bought some oxen; I just got married. What are the things I say to avoid doing what God has called me to do today?

......................................................

“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Thank you, Jesus, for sitting with us.

......................................................

Faithfulness in Little Things

"If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones..." (Luke 16.10)

Everywhere there is a want for prestige. The status. The recognition. But are people ever ready to be faithful with smaller matters? Do I constantly and consistently strive to be diligent with the unseen and unrecognised efforts?

......................................................

Active Listening

“If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.” (Luke 16.31)

Jesus was alluding to his future. If one doesn’t listen to God’s word, what would make them believe a risen Saviour?

Song of the Day

The Challenge

Big Steps Forward

01.
Overcome Excuses

Identify one thing God has been nudging you to do that you’ve been avoiding. Commit to taking that step this week, no matter how small it seems.

02.
Small Faithfulness

Pick a small task you've been neglecting—being punctual, tidying up, or showing patience—and focus on performing it with diligence and worship.

03.
Active Listening

Dedicate time daily to be still in God's presence. Cultivate a posture of listening for His gentle nudges through prayer and the whispers of your heart.
